Legal notice
Published to meet the information duty in Article 10 of Spanish Law 34/2002 on information society services and electronic commerce (LSSI-CE). It is in English because the rest of this site is; the governing law is still Spanish.
Version 2.1 · Last updated
1. Who runs this site
- Alex Barrera (Press42), sole trader (empresario individual)
- Madrid, Spain
- Email: hello@press42.com
- Domain: press42.com
Press42 is a trade name, not a separate company. There is no Registro Mercantil entry to quote, because a sole trader is not required to register, and the activity is not a regulated profession subject to a professional body.
2. What this site is for
press42.com describes professional services: conference hosting and corporate emcee work, keynotes and workshops on deep tech and innovation, and pitch and fundraising coaching. It is an informational site. It sells nothing, takes no payments, and hosts no user accounts.
Descriptions of services, formats, and past work are provided for information. Nothing on this site is a binding offer. A booking exists only once it has been agreed in writing, with dates, scope, and fee, and confirmed by both sides.
3. Using the site
You may read, print, and quote from these pages for your own information or to evaluate a possible engagement. You agree not to use the site to introduce malware, to attempt to gain access to systems or data you have no right to, to place automated load on it that interferes with normal use, or to submit the contact form for unsolicited advertising. The measures described in the privacy policy exist to enforce that last point.
4. Intellectual property
Text, page design, source code, and the Press42 name and logo belong to Alex Barrera unless stated otherwise, and are protected by Royal Legislative Decree 1/1996 (Spanish Copyright Act) and Law 17/2001 on trade marks. Reproducing them commercially, or republishing substantial parts of the text, requires written permission.
Third-party names, logos, and trade marks shown here (clients, conferences, publications, and institutions) belong to their respective owners. They appear to identify real past and present work, which Article 37 of the Trade Mark Act permits, and their appearance does not imply that those organisations endorse or sponsor this site.
Photographs of events were taken by the organisers or their photographers and are used with permission for this purpose. If you hold rights in an image here and want it credited differently or removed, write to hello@press42.com and it will be dealt with promptly.
5. Accuracy and availability
The content is kept current and accurate as far as is reasonable, but it is not warranted to be free of errors, and dates, figures, and third-party details can go out of date. Attendance figures and similar numbers describing other organisations' events come from those organisations and are attributed to them, not independently audited.
The site is provided as it stands. Continuous availability is not guaranteed, and access may be interrupted for maintenance or for reasons outside my control. Nothing in this section limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that Spanish law does not permit to be excluded, in particular the mandatory rights of consumers under Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007.
6. Links to other sites
Links to external sites are offered for convenience. I do not control their content and am not responsible for it. A link is not an endorsement. If you find a link here that leads somewhere unlawful or harmful, tell me and I will remove it, in line with Article 17 LSSI-CE.
You may link to press42.com without asking, provided the link does not suggest a relationship that does not exist, does not frame the pages inside another site, and does not accompany content that would damage the reputation of Press42.
7. Personal data
How personal data is handled (including who the controller is, what the contact form collects, which processors are involved, how long anything is kept, and how to exercise your rights) is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of this notice.
8. Applicable law and jurisdiction
This notice and any use of press42.com are governed by Spanish law.
If you are acting as a business or professional, the courts of the city of Madrid have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, and both parties waive any other forum to which they might be entitled.
If you are acting as a consumer, that clause does not apply to you. Your dispute goes to the court with jurisdiction under the mandatory rules, which is normally the court where you live, and you keep every right that consumer protection law gives you.
9. Contact
Questions about this notice, requests to correct something, or intellectual property matters: hello@press42.com. Enquiries about work are better sent through the contact form.
